Community ELL/ESL Classes

Listed below are a few examples of locally sponsored establishments that offer ESL/ELL classes. Please call your local place of worship or community center, or call one of the establishments listed below for class dates and times.


Iowa International Center

ESL Site 1: Deer Ridge Apartment Complex
6007 Creston Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa
ESL classes are provided Spring, Summer, and Fall Semesters
Classes are for 90 minutes each

-Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for both beginning level & level one
-Spring Semester has already begun and runs through mid-May
-Classes are open to the tenants living at Deer Ridge, who can walk from their apartments to the office for class
-Classes are also open to those who can provide transportation to Deer Ridge
-If you wish to register for either the beginning level or level one 10:00 AM class at Deer Ridge, contact Ms. Patricia Grote,

ESL Site 2: Zion Lutheran Church

Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:30 PM, beginning level and level one between September and May
Transportation, child care, and meal provided at Zion
