Hours of Operation

The Cy-ride is the premier bus service in Ames. It runs every day of the week, but the schedules are different for the weekdays and weekends.

(During the school year)

Monday-Friday: the earliest bus is scheduled to pick up passengers at 6:25am, while the latest is scheduled at 12:34am.

Saturdays: the earliest bus is scheduled to pick up passengers at 7:11am, while the latest is scheduled at 10:32pm

Sundays: the earliest bus is scheduled to pick up passengers at 8:31am, while the latest is scheduled at 11:40pm

Sundays: the earliest bus is scheduled to pick up passengers at 8:31am, while the latest is scheduled at 9:40pm

Fares and Passes

Exact fare required. You should have the correct change ready when boarding. Drivers do not carry change.

ISU students with current ISUCard- Free

Regular Fare (all riders who are not current ISU students; Visiting scholars/scientists; Spouses of ISU students)- $1.25

Reduced Fare (K-12 students; Medicare cardholders; 65 or older; Persons with disabilities)- $0.60

Children 5 years and younger (limit 3 children per passenger)- Free

Ticket Books

10 ride Regular Fare ticket book ($1.25/ride) for fixed routes and Dial-A-Ride- $12.00

10 ride Reduced Fare ticket book ($0.60/ride) for fixed routes only- $6.00
